As a general rule, a belt used for IWB or IWS carry will need to be 1″ to 6″ greater than your pants waist size, depending on what you intend to carry. A belt 7″- 8″ greater than pants waist size may be appropriate if you intend to carry multiple items such as a mag pouch, a blade sheath, and a holster together.
